Noble metals intercalated/supported mica catalyst: synthesis and characterization
2004
Abstract Sodium fluorotetrasilicic mica Na[Mg 2.5 Si 4 O 10 F 2 ], is a 2:1 type synthetic swelling layer lattice silicate. Noble metals such as Pd and Pt–Sn were reduced in situ in surfactant exchanged fluorotetrasilicic mica (TSM). Pt and Pd were also impregnated over different supports. Both the intercalated and impregnated catalysts using noble metals such as Pd, Pt, etc. were prepared and characterized by XRD, BET surface area and TEM analysis. XRD and TEM analyses confirmed the formation of nanoparticles and the particle size was determined by the TEM measurements.
