Rotary regenerative or recuperative tubular air heaters: Myths and reality

2002
A comparison of the characteristics of regenerative and tubular air heaters for high-capacity steam boilers is given. The superiority of the latter for the majority of indices is demonstrated. The difference in opinion concerning the advantages of regenerative air heaters and real facts is noted. Several technical designs are discussed of the works in which higher efficiency of the boilers and power stations is achieved by using tubular air heaters.
