The gabor transform as a power‐system analysis tool
2007
The analysis of power-system distortion has mainly been based on Fourier analysis in various forms. This has been done despite the fact that Fourier analysis requires repetitive waveforms, which certainly is not the situation prevailing on real power systems. The Gabor Transform is a mathematical approach which facilitates the evaluation of non-repetitive waveforms. This paper introduces the Gabor Transform, and shows how this method recovers information that otherwise would be lost in the Fourier Analysis.
