Matching the Transmission and Electric Motor Characteristics of a Formula Student Racecar

This research paper considers a methodology for traction calculation to create a transmission of an electric vehicle. A racecar was chosen as an electric transport model. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is expressed in the justification of the methodological foundations of selecting and analyzing an electric drive of a racecar. The paper studies five different electric motors, presents calculations for each of them, tabulates, and presents the results on a graph. After creating the calculated metal structure, the motor unit is tested, the obtained results are presented in the form of a graph. The practical relevance consists in laying the foundations for the technical construction of a racecar of the South Ural State University using an energy-efficient traction system. The use of the calculated parameters and a relatively inexpensive motor and control system provided for by the operating conditions will allow us to reduce energy consumption and mass indicators significantly.
