Positive electrode additive of alkaline battery

2012
The invention provides a positive electrode additive of an alkaline battery. The preparation of the additive comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing manganese dioxide and barium sulfate powder in the mass ratio of 0.5 to 1.5; putting the mixture in a muffle furnace at the temperature of 700-1,000 DEG C for sintering for 2 hours to 10 hours; cooling the mixture; and grinding the mixture into power to obtain sintered powder of the barium sulfate and the manganese dioxide, wherein the content of the additive is 0.1 to 5 in percentage by the total weight of the positive electrode of the battery. According to the invention, the sintered powder of the barium sulfate and the manganese dioxide is added into the positive electrode of the battery to serve as the additive, so that the discharge performance of the battery is improved, and the gas evolution rate is significantly reduced, thereby improving the safety performance of the battery, while improving the high-temperature storage performance of the battery.
