Constructions of a set of hydrogen-bonded supramolecules from reactions of transition metals with 3,5-dimethylpyrazole and different dicarboxylate ligands

2009
Abstract Three new supramolecular coordination complexes [Zn(Hdmpz) 2 (O 2 C(CH 2 ) 2 CO 2 )] n ( 1 ), Ni 3 (Hdmpz) 4 (HOOC(CH 2 ) 2 CO 2 ) 2 (O 2 C(CH 2 ) 2 CO 2 ) 2 (CH 3 OH) 2 ( 2 ) and Co 3 (Hdmpz) 2 (HOOC(CH 2 ) 3 CO 2 ) 2 (O 2 C(CH 2 ) 3 CO 2 ) 2 (CH 3 OH) 4 ( 3 ) (Hdmpz = 3,5-dimethylpyrazol) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Complex 1 is a polymer with the ZnO 4 N 2 core that is interconnected by bridging succinate moieties into a 1D chain structure. Complexes 2 and 3 are discrete structures, both of them have two types of bridging-coordinated modes of carboxylate ligands (μ 3 –η 2 –η 2 , μ 2 –η 1 –η 1 ). And there are rich intra- or intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the crystals of 1 – 3 , thereby forming a set of supramolecular frameworks. In addition, the thermal behaviors of 1–3 were also investigated.
