Damage Effectiveness Research for Sub-munitions to the Area Target

In view of the rapid development for sub-munitions and the technical requirements for dispersion system,the characteristics of damage area and target area,a new evaluating standard of damage effectiveness and the concepts of target coverage,ratio of effective area,and saturation damage were proposed.The corresponding mathematic model was established by the analyzing of the ballistic characteristic of sub-munitions.The evaluating standard of damage effectiveness,which could solve the evaluation for complicated area target combining with graphics boolean,had the advantages of principle simplicity,better applicability,less computation and powerful operability.Therefore,the accuracy for evaluation is improved,and the difficulty for evaluation is reduced.The new damage effectiveness evaluation is valuable for engineering applications,which can be used as commonly accepted evaluation for sub-munitions to the area target.
