Far infrared spectra of potassium and ammonium pentahalonitrosylruthenates

Abstract The infrared spectra of the potassium and ammonium salts of pentachloro-, pentabromo-, and pentaiodonitrosylruthenates and potassium pentacyanonitrosylruthenate have been recorded from 4000 to 50 cm −1 . The ruthenium nitrogen stretch is found in the range 635-550 cm −1 . The ruthenium carbon and ruthenium halogen stretching vibrations are assigned and discussed.
