Breeding and cultivation technique of new soybean variety Guichun 13

2015
【Objective】In order to adapt to soybean planting pattern, the present experiment was conducted to breed new high-yield soybean variety with suitability for intercropping and high processing quality. 【Methods 】Through sexual hybridization and pedigree breeding, a new soybean variety was bred by crossing Brazilian high-yield soybean MG/BR-56 as female parent with Guangxi spring soybean variety Guidou 3 as male parent, which was high-yield,and suitable for intercropping and deep processing. 【Results】The hybridizition combination was carried out in autumn 2001,which was selected by using pedigree method during 2002-2004. Its characters were basically stable until autumn 2004(F6), and then it was screened and identified in 2005(F7),named Gui 603. It was tested in the 10 thregional experiment and production test of Guangxi during 2009-2011. The average yield of Gui 603 was 2910.00 kg/ha in regional experiment, increased by11.9% compared with Guichun 1, ranking first amongst tested varieties. Average yield of Gui 603 was 2991.60 kg/ha in production tests, and increased by 9.8% compared with Guichun 1,ranking second. Gui 603 also showed significant yieldincreasing effect under the intercropping conditions. Its average yield was 1924.50 kg/ha,increased by 22.6% compared with CK. The growth period of Gui 603 was 100 days, the plant height was 48 cm, the numbers of nodes on main stem, branches, pods and seeds per plant were 11, 3.3, 38.2 and 74.6, respectively. The grain weight per plant was 13.7 g,100 grain weight 19.2 g, protein content 43.77%, fat content 19.01%, hard seed rate 0.13%. It was certified and registered by Guangxi Committee for Crop Variety Registration in 2012, that was named Guichun 13. 【Conclusion】Guichun 13 is characterized by high yield, stable yield, good quality, moderate growth period and height, multi pod, large grain, strong resistances to drought, shade, lodging and diseases, and wide adaptability, which is suitable for interplanting with sugarcane, cassava and maize in different regions of Guangxi.
