Method and system for managing computer terminals

The invention provides a method for managing computer terminals. The method comprises the following steps: (1), detecting whether an external information memory is connected with a computer regularly, if so, executing step (2), if not, executing step (3); step (2), reading network configuration and USB (Universal Serial Bus) port configuration memorized in the external information memory, applying the network configuration and the USB port configuration, binding a network access with the computer, returning to the step (1); and step (3), locking a screen of the computer, and unlocking the screen when a correct password is received, so that a user can use the computer temporarily, returning to the step (1). The invention further provides a system for managing the computer terminals. According to the method and the system for managing the computer terminals, the network configuration and the USB port configuration are read through communication with the external information memory, the binding of a local IP address with the computer is realized, and USB external equipment is managed; in this way, the computer terminals can be managed effectively, staffs can be prevented from freely surfing on extranets, and the security of an intranet is guaranteed.
