Defocused Imaging of an Amplitude Sine Wave Object under Partially Coherent Illumination with an Annular Source

Abstract The apparent transfer functions for defocused imaging under partially coherent illumination with an annular source are investigated. The influence of central obscuration of the annular source on the apparent transfer functions are also studied. The annular source and a source with uniform irradiance distribution are compared.
