Knee pain in childhood

The knee pain is more often mechanic than inflammatory. The child can show knee pain for many reasons: growing pain, inflammatory pain (Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis), infective pain (rheumatic Disease, Lyme Disease, septic arthritis, chronic osteomyelitis), vascular pain (sickle-cell disease, hemophilia, synovial hemangioma). Basic in the diagnosis are: clinical features, story of trauma or infections, age, sport practice. Lab tests and imaging should always be done in order to support a diagnostic suspicion
