Full-Wave Analysis of Lossy Metal Waveguide Using 2-D FDFD Method with Four Transversal Field Components

2020
A compact 2-D finite-difference frequency-domain method combined with surface impedance boundary condition is applied to analyze the dispersion characteristics of lossy metal rectangular waveguides. By eliminating the longitudinal field components, four transversal field components are involved in the final eigen equation taking the advantage of the CPU time. By solving the equation, the proposed method can find the propagation constants and the corresponding modes for a given frequency. Numerical simulations show there are good agreements between the proposed method and traditional methods.
