Experimental Identification of 316L Stainless Steel’s Artificial Fatigue Cracks by Eddy Current Method

The paper deals with the issue of electromagnetic non-destructive investigation of real fatigue defects of conductive materials. Austenitic stainless steel of grade AISI 316L is investigated by the eddy current method. Harmonic excitation is used for driving of the exciting coils. Presented fatigue cracks are induced by the three-point bending of the plates on the cycling machine with predefined loading process parameters. The gained response signals of the investigated regions of interest are graphically presented and discussed in the article.
