Scenario-Based V&V in a Maritime Co-Simulation Framework

System characterizations must be expressed in requirements specifying components to be developed. But requirements cannot express system behavior very well. Even with perfect requirements, the omission of the system behavior verification leads at best to an incomplete test program. This is where the scenario based testing comes in and brings a paradigm shift in the system test specification by extending the purpose of the classical acceptance test at system level. The scenario based testing now makes it possible to test and evaluate the system behavior from the user’s point of view.
