Research and Engineering Practice on Voltage and Reactive Optimal Control of Magnetically Controlled Reactor

As a reactive power compensation device with stepless regulation, Magnetically controlled reactor (MCR) can realize continuous and smooth regulation of reactive power in the system, avoiding the problems of reactive over-compensation and operating over-voltage caused by traditional fixed-load switching reactor, which is an important mean to optimize voltage and reactive in power grid. This paper proposes a technical scheme for the MCR to participate in the AVC coordinated control. It elaborates the control principle and control strategy, which can effectively exert the rapid response and precise adjustment characteristics of the MCR, realize the rapid elimination of the voltage over-limit and the reactive power optimization of the whole network. The results of engineering practice show that the MCR can quickly and accurately respond to the control commands issued by the AVC system, and the optimization effect of voltage and reactive power is obvious, which proves that the control scheme is reliable and effective.
