1989
SUMMARY A two weekoldgirlwithtetralogy ofFallot andatrioventricular septal defect underwent palliation, for severehypoxaemia, byballoon dilatation totheright ventricular outflow tract. Thisprocedure wasrepeated once overthenexteight monthswithout complications. Serial right ventricular angiograms showedgrowthofthehypoplastic pulmonary ring("annulus"), trunk, andarteries. Balloon dilatation isanalternative palliative procedure forpatients withthetetralogy ofFallot which may promotegrowth ofthepulmonary ring, trunk, andarteries.
