Application Case of Electronic Components: Design of Ultrasonic Generator for Cartilage Rehabilitation

Cartilage in the human body structure plays an important role such as bearing load, reducing the friction between the joints. There is evidence that low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) can promote the repair of bone and cartilage. This paper first identifies the ultrasonic parameters, namely, the intensity is 30mW / cm2, the frequency is 1.5MHz, the pulse width is 200μs and the repetition frequency is 1KHz. Then the matching circuit is confirmed and the system scheme of ultrasonic generator is designed. Finally, the low-intensity pulsed output of sine wave with a peak-to-peak value of 5.06V is achieved, which meets the requirements of the ultrasonic transducer.
