Studying the properties of a new parameter sensitive to the type of coordinate dependence of the concentration of atomic probes in the diffusion zone

1998
Both theoretically and experimentally, we studied the dependence of the ratio 6, 122 J = 6 Y/ 122 Y between the intensities k Y of the radiation components of the isotope 57 Co localized in the diffusion zones of polycrystalline gold and tungsten. The ratio k,l J was shown to be a characteristic sensitive to the type of coordinate dependence of the concentration of atomic probes in the diffusion zone. An increase in the ratio k, l J with depth in the diffusion zone is a sign of a Gaussian profile, which is realized upon one-dimensional bulk diffusion and intercrystalline diffusion in the C-kinetics regime in bicrystals. A decrease in the k, l J ratio with penetration into the diffusion zone, in particular, upon intercrystalline diffusion in polycrystals, is caused by the fact that the crystallite conjugation regions (CCRs) in such crystals are characterized by a scatter in the diffusion coefficients in tbe CCR core (D CCR is described by a distribution function rather than by a single value common to the whole sample). The existence of several independent diffusion fluxes leads to the appearance of several extrema in the k,l J(y) dependence.
