"Allergic" cryptococcal pneumonia.

1976
A case of primary pulmonary cryptococcosis with the systemic manifestations of cyclic urticaria, hypotension and dyspnea is presented. It is suggested that there was an allergic reaction to the cryptococcus to account for these symptoms. Treatment with amphotericin-B was effective; three years later the patient remained asymptomatic.
