Magnetic flow cytometry for single cell detection

2010
A method for magnetic flow measurement of cells (10), the method comprising the steps of: - Start-up of a sensor arrangement, wherein, for start-up at least one first (R1, R2, R3) and a second magneto-resistive element (R2, R3, R4) in a Wheatstone bridge in a diagonal arrangement (40) or parallel arrangement (90) interconnected and spaced (Ax) from each other in the flow direction (20) are arranged, - magnetic labeling of the cells (10), - generation of the flow cells via the sensor arrangement, wherein the flow (20) of cells (10) (, R4 R2, R3) is passed initially through the first (R1, R2, R3) and then through the second magneto resistive element, - single-cell version, being generated by the magnetic field of a single magnetic-labeled cell (10), flowing over the sensor arrangement, a measurement signal with a characteristic measured signal pattern of at least three measurement rashes - Evaluation of the measurement signal is identified as a single cell detection using the measured deflection direction sequence of the measurement signal; characterized, in that - from the characteristic measured signal pattern, a measurement deflection distance (At) is evaluated and the cell diameter is calculated from the measured deflection distance (At).
