[The same alkyl acceptor acts in the repair of DNA containing O6-methylguanine or O6-ethylguanine].

1984
Abstract Repair of O6-methylguanine and O6-ethylguanine in DNA by chromatin proteins is a transalkylation onto cystein residues of probably two acceptor proteins. The repair is limited by the amount of acceptors. Competition experiments have shown that the same acceptors are involved in the repair of both kinds of damages.
