Hole color centers and their properties in KCl crystals irradiated with a high-current pulsed electron beam

1985
In order to discover the influence of pulsed electronic bombardment upon the state and properties of defects that are responsible for V/sub 2/ and V/sub 3/ absorption bands, the authors use thermally stimulated luminescence to study the optical stability of hole centers with respect to their destruction in an electron recombination process. They conclude that the V/sub 2/ and V/sub 3/ centers accumulated as the result of x-ray irradiation are thermally more stable than those formed under pulsed electronic bombardment.
