Do Upper Echelons Faultlines Affect Strategic Decision-making: The Moderating Role of Managerial Identification
2013
The paper empirically analyzes the relationship between firm strategic decision-making and two kinds of upper echelons’ faultlines which are demographic faultlines and personality faultlines, and the moderating effect of team identification as well. It found that the personality faultlines are significantly related to decision quality and efficiency and moderated by team identification. The relationship between demographic faultlines and team identification are weakly significant, but the moderating effect of team identification is not significant.
