The characteristics of hearing aids

2000
Objective:To observe the auricle's acoustic factors which infuence the microphone opening under the condition of hearing aids without output.Method:The acoustic gain, the maximum values of resonance peak(MVRP) and MVRP'S freqnencies of the microphone opening at usual or potential positons of in-the ear(ITE),in the -canal(ITC) and completely-in-the canal(CIC) hearing aids were tested by using the FONIX-6500-C real ear test system. Results: The values of acoustic gain of the microphone opening of ITE,ITC and CIC were 5.94~6.46 dB(SPL),6.90~9.25 dB(SPL)and 8.82~9.15 dB(SPL) respectively, the maximum values of resonance peak of those three kinds of hearing aids were 17.71~23.00 dB;MVRP'S freqencies were 4 733~5 638 Hz.Condusion:Because of aurical's influences, hearing aids could improve its effects and increase speech understanding and discrimination.
