Hydrological influence in the occurrence of enteroparasitoses in two riverine communities of the Middle Solimões, Amazonas.

2010
During 12 months the occurrence of enteroparasitosis in children 0 to 12 years was assessed in two riverine communities of Central Amazon: Caiambe and Jutica. Through questionnaires applied to coastal and collections parasitologic in 2008, it was possible to monitor the occurrence of parasites in both locations of study as the level of the river Solimoes. The laboratory tests were performed at the hospital in Tefe AM and the results showed that Ascaris lumbricoides was predominant in Caiambe as Enterobius vermicularis was more prevalent in Jutica during the study period. There was no statistical difference between ascariasis and giardiasis in the study site (P> 0.05).
