Iododerivatives of testosterone as potential biological markers

1980
Abstract Four iododerivatives of testosterone with an iodine atom in positions 2ξ, 6ξ, 7ξ and 11ξ, respectively were tested for their binding to four different antitestosterone antisera and for rat prostate cytosol receptors. The binding to testosterone-estradiol-binding globulin (TeBG) was also estimated. 7ξ-Iodotestosterone seems to be a potentially useful compound since it competes with dihydrotestosterone for cytosol receptors, exerts high affinity to the antisera and is not bound by TeBG.
