Investigation into the structure and superconducting properties of Bi(Pb)SrCaCuO based multifilamentary superconductors

1991
Silver sheathed Bi(Pb)SrCaCuO (BSCCO) based mono- and multifilamentary superconductors were manufactured by the 'powder in a tube' method of working. The plate-line oriented structure was revealed to form in the core of a conductor. The rolling is shown to be more efficient in producing the oriented structure than the drawing and this is likely to result in the higher critical current density of rolled tapes.
