Evidence for a. delta. -nucleon virtual state. [1. 65 GeV/c]

The possible existence of a ..delta..-N virtual state in deuteron breakup is tested for the pd ..-->.. eta pp charge-exchange interaction at 1.65 GeV/c. Qualitative agreement is obtained between theory and experiment. (SDF)
