Enhanced second order nonlinearity in AlGaAs microring resonators

Second order nonlinear effects, such as second harmonic generation and parametric amplification, can be dramatically enhanced in microring resonator structures. The quasi-phase-matching is achieved based on the position dependence of polarization inside the ring resonator.
