Modernization of the FATS Device for Substation “84” with Two Inputs Per Section and with its Own Generation from the Power Unit 32 MVA

2021
The paper presents a classification of short-term electrical disturbances and addresses the reasons of technological process disarrangement in the chemical factories. The article considers modern quality standards for electrical energy in order to assess the impact of voltage dips on the operation of electric motors. It also gives the analysis of voltage dips in the supply mains of “Phosphorite” RP-84 (Electrical Power Distribution Substation). The paper proposes an algorithm for operation of FATS (Fast Automatic Transfer Switch) equipment to ensure the dynamic stability of electric motors in case of short-term disturbances in the supply mains. The article shows that with FATS device operation in 27 ms the drives of pumps, compressors and fans of “Phosphorite” RP-84 technological lines do not switch off, and it also provides for an uninterrupted operation of production facilities with reduction of losses in case of short- term electrical disturbances in supply mains. The paper compares the characteristics of the two modern Fast Automatic Transfer Switch devices.
