Optimization of the reluctance synchronous motor with barriers rotor

The paper deals with optimization of the reluctance synchronous motor design from the point of view of shape and barrier number on its rotor. Two models of rotors are developed, both with the same stator: the first one A with barriers of equal width, parallel to each other. The optimal number of barriers is investigated. The second one B with barriers following the shape of the magnetic force-lines in the solid sheet. The optimal number of barriers and their shape is investigated from the point of view of inductance ratio Ld/Lq and their difference (Ld — Lq) to develop as high torque, power, power factor, and efficiency as possible. The model B with five barriers was chosen.
