The Clinical Characteristics of Senile Pulmonia

Objective:To analyze the clinical features and prognosis of senile pneumonia.Methods:It was retrospectively analyzed that clinical data of 201 cases of senile pneumonia over 65 years old and 86 cases of young and middle-aged pneumonia hospitalized at the corresponding period from January 2003 to April 2010.Results:78.4 % of senile pneumonia had comorbid conditions,and 11.7 % of hospital mortality was higher in the aged group than in young and middle-aged group.The first symptom of senile pneumonia in elderly patients was prominent of non-respiratory symptoms.Conclusions:The senile pneumonia has unrepresentative of clinical manifestations,more complications and poor prognosis,and more attention should be taken.
