Agricultural Machinery in Zimbabwe - Current Development and Potential

This paper gives the impressions gained by the authors of the Zimbabwe agricultural machinery research and development activities and the agricultural machine manufacturing capabilities. The Institute of Agricultural Engineering (IAE) and the Agricultural Research Trust (ART) farm were visited to view the research activities while the manufacturers visited were Tinto Industries and Bain Manufacturing Company. Government policies on farming systems and imports are explained as they largely dictate the type of farming which is carried out in Zimbabwe.
