Irregular spatial color sampling in video single matrix sensors

2018
One of the space orientation options in state-of-art unmanned aerial vehicles is done by the analysis of visual signal from one or more on-board television cameras. These methods are usually based on contour recognition. Using color filter arrays for acquiring color information lead to spatial separation of components and result in distortions that may be quite high on images with periodical structure and appearance of false contours moving on image scaling and decreasing reliability of orientation methods. This problem can be solved by using irregular structure of arrays designed in the article.
