THE SUCCESS OF THE SELF-BREASTEXAMINATION METHOD (BSE) IN YOUNGWOMEN

Breast self-examination (BSE) is one way to detect the presence of breast cancer. BSE is not widely known by adolescents and young women, so it is needed a promotive effort with the aim of increasing their knowledge about BSE. The writing of this review aimed to determine the success of breast self-examination methods in young women. The method used in this review writing was the approach of Arksey and O'Maley. The framework used to identify research questions was PEOS. In this review the author used 4 databases in article search. Results: The author identified 8 articles which were then assessed using the Joanna Bridge Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tools. Conclusion: From the 8 articles that have been identified, it was found that there are several factors that affects the success of breast self-examination methods in young women, namely knowledge, culture, age, lifestyle, health information and health programs.
