VARİKOSELİN TANISINDA RENKLİ DOPPLER GÖRÜNÜTULEME VE TESTİKÜLER SİNTİGRAFİNİN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI COMPARSION OF COLOR DOPPLER ULTRASONOGRAPHY AND SCINTIGRAPHY IN DIAGNOSIS OF VARICOCELE

2002
Summary This study has been conducted in a total of 50 patients who have been refered with infertility or scrotal pain and swelling. Following physical examination, color doppler ultrasonography and scrotal scintigraphy have been performed in all patients and diagnostic value of each method has been comparatively evaluated. Of the 50 patients, diagnosis of varicocele was made in 44 (88%) patients by physical examination, in 46 (92%) patients by scrotal scintigraphy and color doppler ultrasonography in all (100%) patients. In conclusion; color doppler ultrasonography and scintigraphy, following physical examination, should be prefered to detect varicocele, especially subclinic varicocele that is important for infertility.
