Atividade nematicida de exsudatos de Streptomyces sp. sobre Meloidogyne incognita

2005
The biological control has been a viable alternative for the management of plant parasitic nematodes, since it reduces the ecological disequilibria and is economically more viable, when compared to the traditional chemical methods. The present work had the objective of evaluating the effect of metabolites from Streptomyces sp. on juveniles of Meloidogyne incognita, with an assay on Elisa plates, incubated at room temperature. Five Streptomyces isolates with the following codes AC 92, AC 26, AC 29, AC 95, and AC 103 were tested, and the control treatment was maintained in water. It was evaluated the percentage of immobile juveniles, 24 hours after incubation, and the percentage of mortality after 48 hours of incubation. A significant effect was observed for the metabolites produced by the Streptomyces isolates on the immobility and mortality of juveniles of M. incognita. The isolate AC 92 caused 98.2% of mortality, when compared to the control treatment with only 27.3%. The isolates AC 95 and AC 26 caused 50.0 and 59.1% of mortality. The isolate AC 95 caused 98.8% inhibition of J2 hatching of M. incognita. It was concluded that the metabolites produced by the isolates AC 92 and AC 95 were efficient in the control of juveniles of M. incognita.
