Vehicular Traffic GIS And Simulator For Route Guidance NY/NJ Highways

This paper describes the design of a macroscopic traffic simulator using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and its implementation for performance evaluation of different Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems ( IVHS) route guidance strategies. The GIS and the associated routing algorithms are intended for deployment in the NY/NY metropolitan area by TRANSCOM.
