Prevalência da brucelose bovina em rebanhos leiteiros da Microrregião de Batalha - AL - Brasil

With the purpose of verifying the prevalence of Brucella sp antibodies in dairy cattle from the region of Batalha, state of Alagoas, a total of 700sampies of female serum were analyzed, using Plate Agglutination Test (PAT), Acidified Tamponed Antigen Test (ATA) and of the association of Tube Agglutination Test (TAT) and 2 -Mercaptoethanol (2-ME) for diagnosis of brucellosis. The results showed 4.14% of positive animals and 7.86% suspect in PAT; 8.57% positive for ATA; and TATwith + 2-ME 7.15% of positive and 1.29% of inconclusive animals. It can be concluded that the prevalence of the bovine brucellosis in the studied region (4.14%), is similar to the Alagoas State (4.25%) and elevated regarding the national prevalence (2.75%), using the Plate Agglutination Test.
