Measurement of Serum IgE and Monoamine Oxidase in Prurigo Nodularis and Its Clinical Significance

2015
Objective: To study the role of serum IgE and Monoamine oxidase (MAO) in Prurigo nodularis. Methods: 90 cases of Prurigo nodularis patients and 90 healthy controls were selected in the investigation. The total serum IgE were measured by Direct chemiluminescence method. The serum MAO were measured by Continuous monitoring method. Results: The levels of total serum IgE in Prurigo nodularis patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls (P < 0.05). The levels of serum MAO in Prurigo nodularis patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Serum IgE, MAO may play a part of role in the pathogenesis of Prurigo nodularis, and the results provide the science views for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
