Computer-assisted analysis of statistics from the masters’ reports of the Dublin maternity hospitals from 1974 to 1983

Computer-assisted methods make it possible to evaluate very large numbers, and it is therefore valuable provided that reliable data is used. The large numbers of births reported by the Masters of the Dublin maternity hospitals would obviously lend themselves ideally to computer analysis, if only the data were to be collected in a uniform and agreed basis.
