도시철도 역사시설 안전개선사업의 편익 추정에 관한 연구

Recently, we have applied the Contingent Valuation Method, traditionally used in the fields of environmentology and economics, to the value estimation of a project involving improved safety of urban railway station facilities in an attempt to measure the benefits of using environmental goods. Our goals are to determine how willing people are to pay for the project and to quantitatively calculate the benefits that will be generated as a result of the project involving the improved safety of urban railway station facilities. To that end, in this study, we have constructed a hypothetical scenario where the project will ensure the safety level of urban railway station facilities, designed a questionnaire to calculate the benefits of the project that includes information on target goods, payment method, ways to induce payment, questioning strategy and survey composition, and conducted a survey targeting adults who use urban railway systems. Based on the results of the survey, we quantitatively calculated the benefits of the safety improvement project to be between 7.7 billion KRW and 25.5 billion KRW by extracting people’s willingness to pay. This study will serve as important data to improve station facilities and expand upon the safety facility project in order to prevent accidents from occurring inside urban railway stations.
