Assessment of overhead transmission line right of way standard deregulating in Iran

2007
In this paper , by considering the latest revision of standards which have been used in the other countries and reviewing the researches results in the field of right of way, a new framework for restructuring the existing standard is proposed but one of the main good points of this paper, which definitely describes the word "deregulating" in the title, is using justified instruction using EMF level safe limits in instead of rigid distances from electrical transmission lines which are the only way to determine ROW in Iran. For approaching such purpose, two major factors of ROW determination, means EMF and insulator string deviation, are calculated for 5 local voltage levels and typical tower structures which are widely used in Iran network and in 3 defined climatic conditions. So, as the calculations show, the final achieved ROW in the worst case is significantly less than the existing standard in almost all cases. While many of transmission line projects are pending due to problems in land ownership along with arising national concerns about environmental matters and electrical equipments outlook, it seems inevitable to establish detailed and more accurate standards in this field. It is mentionable that currently a committee with the aim of ROW optimization is working, and researches are still in progress.
