Modelling of coupled thermo–electro–magneto–hydrodynamic phenomena

2014
The numerical simulation of magneto–electro–thermo–hydrodynamic processes is generally performed using three numerical methods: FEM, BIM and FVM. Each one can be used to solve a part of the physical problem and sometimes the whole problem albeit with many difficulties. Modelling the global process implies that account is taken of the coupling between the different physical phenomena. A natural technique consists in using the best adapted method to solve each phenomenon and in doing the coupling by interpolation of physical quantities from one group (equation, method, domain) to another group. All the simulation steps of such processes are efficient when they are done inside one code independently of equation, method and domain. For this, the description of physical equations may be done with a unique method equation generator and the coupling may be obtained with general multi–method algorithms, including interpolation schemes.
