Impressions of Australia

The letter by D F A Edwards in the December 1980 issue of Physics Bulletin (p341) has caught the eyes of some of the 1800 or so members of the Australian Institute of Physics who happen also to be members of The Institute of Physics. Their comments prompt me to write to correct some of the impressions given in that letter.
