Transmission method of alarm and instruction in network using optical amplifier repeater

1992
PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform the monitoring and controlling of an optical amplifier repeater by using a monitoring and controlling signal transmitting by wave length multiplexing for a main signal. CONSTITUTION: An optical amplifier repeater receives a main signal and a monitoring and controlling signal wavelength multiplexed on it. The received signal 12-1 is separated into main signal 13-1, and monitoring and controlling signal 14-1, by a branching filter 21-1, and the main signal 13-1 is amplified as an optical signal by an optical amplifying part 22-1. The monitoring and controlling signal 14-1 is converted into electric signal in an optical/electric conversion part 25-1. Subsequently, a frame synchronization is performed by a CMI code rule violation in a CMI frame synchronization part 26-1. Next, by looking at the destination display in the monitoring and controlling signal in a monitoring and controlling signal reception part 27-1, the instruction described on the monitoring and controlling signal is executed, in the case of the destination of its own repeater. In the case the destination of other repeaters, the instruction is delivered to a monitoring and controlling signal generation part 29-1 and is stored in the transmission buffer within the monitoring and controlling signal generation part 29-1.
