The effect of methyl mercury on the cell cycles of germ cells in the mouse testis

Cell percentage had not significantly changed in G_(0)/G_(1) but decreased in S phase with the increasing dosage of MeHg. The 1/50 LD_(50) and 1/10 LD_(50) also have significantly changed in S phase compared with that of negative control (P<0.05). The cell percentage treated with MeHg were significantly higher in G_(2)/M phase than that of the control (P<0.05). MeHg may decrease cell percentage in S phase, inhibit the DNA synthesis and make cell block in G_(2) phase.
