Grammar of Physically Based Modeling of Dance Movements: Use for Choreographic Composition

2007
The thesis is concerned with the grammar of physically based modelling (a digital means) for computer choreography (dance interpretation) and for dance writing (dance conservation). The concern in the novel dance writing is with mass-interaction based modelling, a kind of physically based animation, taking account of “motion”, “quality” and “invisibles”. The novel dance writing provides for an innovative concept: “dynamic notation” (or “dynamic figure”) implying movement conservation and movement reproduction at once. The dynamic notation means one sort of dynamics simulation on the one hand, and the conservation of dynamical body’s inner state on the other hand.
