Fatalvessel Injury in Laparohysteroscopy: A Case Report and Review of Literature
2016
In recent years, laparo-hysteroscopy is commonly practiced in gynaecology for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This procedure has its own complications leading to morbidity and mortality of patients. We report a case of fatal abdominal vessel and mesenteric injury in a patient while undergoing a diagnostic laparo-hysteroscopy for secondary infertility due to a persistent ovarian cyst. The clinical details, autopsy findings, complications and medico-legal aspects are discussed along with relevant literature.
